HKRITA’s Project Wins International Recognition

EPAS - e-clustered Prototype Assessment System, the latest success of HKRITA project, allows different users from different physical locations to take part in a remote examination meeting of a physical sample. Aiming to exchange ideas with other researchers from around the world, the project was entered for the 38th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva in Switzerland and was awarded a silver medal....

Two successful HKRITA project deliverables have been introduced to the industry:

Molding and Lamination Technology Handbook for Lingerie Industry

The Molding and Lamination Technology Handbook for Lingerie Industry, which is one of the successful deliverables of the project “Development of an Innovative Manufacturing Solution for Energy-saving and Environmental-friendly Production of Brassiere Cup”, has been published. It illustrates the technologies developed from the research project, first addressing the theory and then discussing the application of fabric cup molding, foam cup molding and lamination technology. The handbook is now available for sale at HKRITA’s office. For enquiries and purchase, please contact Ms S C Ku ( / (852) 2627 8112). For the order form, please click here.

2. Innovative Finishing System for Wet Processing of Garments and Accessories

A rotary finishing system for wet processing has been commercialised in the industry. It can give an effective circulation when bathing to permit an optimum liquor exchange between the substrate and the bath. Meanwhile the machine is able to keep the movement and agitation of the substrate under a controlled mode to minimise the disturbance of the substrate conditions. It is applicable to garment dyeing and finishing of woolen type knitwear as well as sweaters with complicated fibre compositions. It is a deliverable of the project “Development of an Innovative Finishing System for Wet Processing of Garments and Accessories”. This wet finishing system is now available for industry purchase. For product enquiries, please contact (852) 2782 1118. If your company would like to become one of the licensed manufacturers for this machine, please contact Dr K C Ho ( / (852) 2627 8188). For the leaflet of the finishing machine, please click here.

Nowadays, in making forecasting decisions, fashion retailers still rely on their subjective assessment and experience with simple statistical analysis on the sales data in the past. This type of method is unreliable. When the experienced buyer leaves a company, his valuable experience will also go with him and leave the inexperienced buyers of the company incapable in developing a reliable sales forecast...
