30% Cash Rebate Scheme

The Research and Development (R&D) Cash Rebate Scheme launched by the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC) aims to reinforce the research culture among private companies and encourage them to establish stronger partnership with designated local public research institutions.

A review of the scheme has been carried out and the level of cash rebates has been increased from 10% to 30% in order to strengthen the public and private partnership in R&D. This is effective from 1 February 2012 and is applicable to applications approved on or after that date.

Under the Scheme, a company will receive a cash rebate equivalent to 30% of its sponsorship in the projects of The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel under the Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF).
