Job Description
Reporting to the Director, Business Development (DBD), the appointee will be required to:
- share the market directions/demand with the Project Design team, work together on creating new projects and follow them through to make sure that they can serve the industries’ needs;
- identify business opportunities for all commercialization activities;
- implement DBD’s business development plan, and assist in formulating the strategic business development plans to simulate commercialization opportunities;
- initiate business and marketing activities with the Marketing team in order to enhance the Institute’s commercialization roles;
- monitor on-going projects closely and plan out the strategies to promote projects and arrange the intellectual property, and work closely with the Technical team on know-how or technology transfer to support the commercialization effectively;
- manage the arrangement of license fee and royalty collection;
- liaise with local and/or overseas research institutes and business partners to arrange technology demonstration for users of the industry; and
- perform any ad hoc projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A recognized degree or above in Textiles and Clothing Technology or a related discipline;
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in textile and/or clothing related industry, with experience in intellectual property license and extensive network in the industry being an advantage;
- Highly-organized, open minded and capable of working under pressure with multi-task assignments;
- Excellent interpersonal and management skills;
- Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese, with a good command of Putonghua being an asset;
- Frequent travel to overseas is required.
