Job Description
The appointee(s) will be required to:
- develop new research projects and manage ongoing projects related to development of new inventions, processes and systems associated with
- textile and leather (synthetic or natural) materials processing (dyeing, recycling, surface treatment, melt and wet spinning, etc.), or
- materials engineering (materials physics, nanotechnology, etc.);
- be responsible for conducting R&D activities, such as and including conducting lab experiments, analysing and summarizing research findings, preparing project updates, writing reports;
- monitor technical and financial aspects of the projects and perform other administrative tasks;
- work closely with R&D researchers and personnel; coordinate with local and overseas universities, research institutions and business partners, and handle enquiries in a professional manner; and
- perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A master’s degree or above in Textile Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related discipline;
- Solid knowledge in textile materials science or processing is required;
- 3 or more years of research / work experience;
- Experience in development of system prototypes will be an advantage;
- Highly-organized and capable of working under pressure with multi-task assignments; good interpersonal skills; and
- Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese, with good command of Putonghua being an advantage.
- Applicants with lower qualification or less experience will be considered for junior positions.
