Job Description

Reporting to the Technical Manager, the appointee will be required to:

  • be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the wet and dry laboratories;
  • execute the operation policies and procedures for the laboratories;
  • ensure the laboratories complied with all laboratory rules and safety regulations;
  • monitor the operation of the equipment for the laboratories;
  • carry out regular routine maintenance, inspection and stock control of the laboratory equipment;
  • work closely with the R&D researchers to provide comprehensive technical services in laboratory and safety management, maintenance of the equipment and laboratory management system;
  • provide administrative support for training on laboratory safety and emergency response as well as laboratory orientation;
  • prepare regular reports for inspections and operational needs; and
  • perform ad hoc duties as assigned.


  • A recognised degree or above in Chemistry, Textile Technology, Laboratory Science or a related discipline;
  • Have at least three years’ relevant experience in laboratory management, laboratory building services, electrical and mechanical services, etc.;
  • Familiar with the Hong Kong Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (HOKLAS);
  • A good team player with a strong sense of responsibility, good interpersonal and problem solving skills;
  • Independent and able to work under pressure;
  • High proficiency in MS Office applications and Chinese word processing; and
  • A good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage.
  • Applicants with less experience will be considered for the position of Assistant Technical Officer
