HKRITA Signed MoU with University of Massachusetts Lowell
The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA) signed a
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with University of Massachusetts Lowell
(UMass Lowell) on 30 September to foster knowledge exchange and conduct
more innovative research and development.
UMass Lowell is a national research university with a long history in the
United States. It has a legacy as a textiles institute with a strong
research background in textiles related fields including textiles
engineering, dyeing, fabric development, fibres and composite materials.
It has extended its research to different sectors in recent decades.
Ms Teresa Yang, Chairman of HKRITA, and Dr Julie Chen, Chancellor of UMass
Lowell, signed the MoU on behalf of the two organisations. It is expected
that both organisations will jointly conduct more impactful R&D projects
via knowledge exchange and research collaboration, particularly in the
topic of material science and topics outside the textile and clothing
industry.
