HKRITA Receives Domestic and International R&D Awards
Participating in scientific research competitions can encourage peer
exchanges, verify the quality of technology, and offer insights on
developing R&D projects more applicable to the market. In July and August,
two HKRITA technologies won the “2023 China Garment Industry Technological
Progress and Contribution Awards”, the “2023 China Patent Awards of
Garment Industry”, and the 2023 R&D 100 Awards.
Green Machine Wins its First Domestic Awards
Issued by the China National Garment Association, the “2023 China Garment
Industry Technological Progress and Contribution Awards” and the “2023
China Patent Awards of Garment Industry” recognise outstanding textiles
innovation and ground-breaking solutions nationwide.
Green Machine
receives both awards for its offering of a viable recycling technology to
separate cotton and polyester fibres at scale, overcoming a long-term
technological challenge and industrial pain point in textiles recycling.
This is the first time the Green Machine has received awards issued by a
mainland organisation. The awards, presented in the 2023 China National
Garment Technology Conference, were an opportunity for our R&D team to
share with mainland industry partners about the innovation of the Green
Machine and HKRITA’s works.

Acousweep Receives 2023 R&D 100 Awards
Established in 1963, the R&D 100 Awards recognise 100 outstanding
scientific research outcomes covering a range of topics, including
medical, electronics, mechanical, engineering and materials every year.
Acousweep: Microplastic Fibre Separation System Using Sweeping Acoustic
Waves
receives the award (Mechanical/Materials category) for its employment of
sweeping acoustic waves to continuously collect microplastic fibres from
waste water. The entire treatment requires no use of chemicals, solvents
or bio-additives. The system is designed as a plug-and-play application
that can be easily transported, installed, and connected to waste water
treatment facilities. This prestigious accolade is a testament to the
technological breakthrough and applicability of our R&D technology.
