Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Services, the appointee will be required to:

  • lead a small team to provide technical support including the internal network, servers, SAN, VTL, email and cloud infrastructure;
  • manage IT projects from development of user requirement specifications to the system implementation, and provide user support service and training to all users, and act as the technical liaison with departmental users and vendors for system development, enhancement, maintenance and technical support;
  • develop procedures and best practice to ensure proper control, risk management, system and data security are in place for all infrastructure and operations;
  • research, test, pilot and recommend new technology, identify technology gaps, develop and deploy infrastructure solution;
  • support the Institute to achieve its mission and goals through effective and innovative use of digital tools;
  • ensure all IT practices and standards are in compliance with internal policies and procedures, and data protection and security regulations;
  • prepare and manage budgets, track and optimize expenses and other resources of the IT section; and
  • perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A recognized degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline; certificates in MCSA / MCSE / MCP / ITIL will be an advantage
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in information systems and technology infrastructure;
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Servers, Microsoft Exchange Mail Server and Virtualization knowledge (VMWare) and next generation firewall, Layer 2 & Layer 3 Switching and Network Routing;
  • Hands-on experience in WAN/LAN, DNS, DHCP, SAN, NAS Storage and TCP/IP with experience in information security field is preferred;
  • Experience in system migration using AWS, Azure, or Alibaba Cloud is a plus;
  • Strong problem solving, root cause analysis techniques, and able to work independently;
  • A good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage.
