Job Description

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Research, the appointee will be required to:

  • lead the team to develop R&D projects;
  • undertake preliminary research/analysis of target technological areas;
  • develop new projects, including project design and proposal writing;
  • conduct research activities and monitor the research team to achieve project deliverables;
  • manage R&D projects, including technical and financial aspects and other project administrative tasks, such as preparation of project updates and reports;
  • liaise and work closely with local and overseas universities, research institutions and business partners for project development and commercialization;
  • promote and support project commercialization, work closely with the Business Development team on know-how or technology transfer;
  • assist in R&D publicity events or programmes organized by the Institute; and
  • perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree or above in Textiles and Clothing, Chemistry, Engineering or a related discipline;
  • 8 or more years of relevant working experience, preferably with experience in R&D or textile or fashion related industry;
  • Highly-organized and capable of working under pressure with multi-task assignments;
  • Good presentation and interpersonal skills;
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese, with a good command of Putonghua being an advantage; and
  • Frequent travel to overseas is required.
