On-line Activity-based Carbon Footprint Modelling (ACFM) of Manufacturing Processes with Expert Advisory System (Phase II)

ACFM Phase I had been developed as a standalone computerized system that aims to recognize carbon emission status-quo of the manufacturing processes and delineate an activity-based carbon footprint model along the supply chain. There are 14 manufacturers already acquired the license, some brands also requested their manufacturers to adopt ACFM software. This project aims to enhance the existing ACFM system in order to respond to feedbacks from the Phase I pilot companies as well as the license acquired companies. An enhancement of the ACFM software with the following 4 main additional features: 1. Web application (provide linkage and communication between users, particularly useful for companies having more than one site) 2. Automatic data capture and input (data input automatically to reduce resources and improve accuracy) 3. Customized reporting (different reports can be generated depending on individual needs) 4. AI Engine (an expert advisory system to provide carbon reduction solutions) With each of the above features, the ACFM system will be evolved from a carbon footprint self-assessment tool to become an intelligent carbon management and advisory platform.
