Technological Aspects for Designing Warp Knitted Fabrics

This project aims at studying the hand feel of warp knitted fabrics designed with different technological aspects. There is a wide range of application for warp knitted fabrics such as sportswear, swimwear, underwear, automotive upholstery, lace, carpets etc.

Warp knitted fabrics not only exhibit dimensional stability similar to woven fabrics but also with elasticity comparable to weft knitted fabrics. Warp knitting is the fastest means of fabric production from yarn while combining the best qualities of both weft knitted fabrics and woven fabrics with less resilient, lighter weight, dimensionally stable in both directions and exhibit a degree of stretch.
