Remote Assessment System for Physical Prototypes under an e-clustering Environment (EPAS – e-clustered prototype assessment system)

We propose to build a EPAS (e-clustered prototype assessment system) hardware equipment that is capable to offer a remote examination of physical sample and such system allow many users from different physical locations to participate interactively in the sample evaluation session. This system is different from existing web conferencing system, which does not support the examination capability of physical sample. This system is also different from existing virtual fitting CAD software, which can handle only virtual garment, rather than physical garment. Approval based on physical sample is not avoidable. The development of the EPAS is an effort to tailor an existing multi-users web communication software, including a new user interface and the design and an integration of the hardware. The software is free for product development license. The impact of the EPAS is tremendous. Firstly, it allows the on-spot remote meeting to discuss on the physical sample interactively by the design team, merchandising team, sales team, and sample development team. All important and urgent decision can be made without any delay! Secondly, the convenience can strengthen the role of Hong Kong as a global trading hub!
