High Performance Hong Kong Bespoke Men’s Suiting for an Updated Urban Professional Application

Wearing suits in Hong Kong could be difficult due to the hot and humid climate, long working and gathering hours, and the overcrowding environment. Suits available on the market are far from enough for businessmen to undergo this vibrant lifestyle.

This proposed research aims to innovate new methods to produce high performance Hong Kong bespoke men’s suiting for an updated urban professional application. The proposed study is focused on:

1. enhancing fabric functions to strengthen protection and improve wearing comfort, in terms of air- and vapour- permeability.
2. from a knowledge management perspective, re-engineering traditional bespoke men’s suit patternmaking to streamline and optimize the cut and fit.

The research result tackles the difficulty of wearing suits in Hong Kong under the hot and humid climate, long working hours, and the overcrowding environment. It offers suits for businessmen to undergo this vibrant lifestyle.
