Trial: High Performance Hong Kong Bespoke Men’s Suiting for an Updated Urban Professional Application and Image-based Precise 3D Human Model Customisation on Smart Phones for Fashion Applications

This PSTS project is originated from two completed ITF projects: “High Performance Hong Kong Bespoke Men’s Suiting for an Updated Urban Professional Application” (ITP/047/13TP) and “Image - based Precise 3D Human Model Customisation on Smart Phones for Fashion Applications” (ITS/289/13). The former one has successfully developed an intelligent pattern design system (IPDS), a web-based system, using the knowledge and pattern drafting rules of bespoke tailors. With IPDS, users input body measurement data and output the clothing patterns of two selected style of suit jackets and trousers automatically. The latter one has developed a mobile app known as '1Measure' which allows individual customers to customise 3D body models and automatically calculate the body measurements by simply taking two photographs of their own full-body. This PSTS project aims at integrating these two developed systems and enhancing their functionalities by means of more trials on different types of bespoke garments with the support from the athletes of Hong Kong Sports Institute.
