Development of Functional Light-thin Wool blended Knitted Fabrics

The project aims to develop new finer wool blended Sirofil composite yarns for functional light-thin knitted fabrics through a modified Sirofil composite yarn spinning system with capability of tension and position control of the filament component. Main objectives include:

1. investigate the effects of the fibre content, yarn structure and spinning parameter on the yarn properties
2. optimise the fibre content, spinning parameters and the filament feeding-tension of wool blended Sirofil composite yarns
3. develop functional light-thin wool blended knitted fabrics with target functions including moisture management, warm, light weight, and easy care by using the developed yarns via fabric structure design.
